Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 is a budget-friendly laptop that provides both a sleek design and above-average performance. Lenovo is famous for providing a budget laptop that fulfills the basic requirements of almost every person who uses a laptop for average daily life tasks.
If you are one of those people who want to evaluate whether the Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 is worth buying for basic daily life tasks, we’re here to help find the answer to that question.
In this review article, we will walk you through our experience with Lenovo Ideapad 330-15. We will discuss its features and specifications in a way that will answer all the questions you have in your mind about this laptop.
So, let’s begin.
Our Experience with the Design:
Well, Lenovo really provided a sleek and stylish design for the Lenovo Ideapad 330-15. It comes in a platinum grey color. The good thing about this is that this color falls on the cool side of the color spectrum. This was a really nice experience for us to have it in our workspace. It really blended in.

The body is made of solid plastic although the keyboard deck, palm rest, and touchpad felt like they were actually made of aluminum.
Here’s more about the design specification of Lenovo Ideapad 330-15:
- The laptop’s hinges can rotate almost 180 degrees which lessened our worries about damaging the screen by opening it too much.
- The dimensions of the laptop are 378 X 260 X 22.9 mm. It is also one of the most lightweight laptops weighing only 2200g.
- Being a budget laptop, Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 still provides good quality speakers that are two 2W Dolby Audio speakers.
Although the laptop is pretty thin, it still provides a quite good range of ports for connectivity purposes. It has:
- A USB 3.1 port
- A USB 2.0 input
- An HDMI port
- A headphone jack that serves both for the microphone and speaker
Overall, the design really impressed us. Although the plastic body might not be so durable as compared to a metal one, it still feels pretty hard and uncrackable if you use it normally, of course.
Our Experience with the Display:
The bezels of the laptop screen are not pretty impressive. They are not very thin and might ruin your multimedia usage experience. Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 comes with a 15.5 inches screen that provides an HD screen resolution of 1366 X 768 (the one we reviewed.)

This might not be very impressive for some users (like us). That is because there are other laptops that can provide much better resolution than this one.
The multimedia experience on this low-pixel screen can be a little disappointing. That is because this laptop (according to a test) covers only 66% of the sRGB color gamut.
The brightness of this laptop is also not very impressive. The maximum brightness is almost 188nits which might not be so good to use in brighter environments.
Overall, our experience with the display was just ‘okay’ and not very impressive.
Our Experience with the Keyboard and Touchpad:
Lenovo has always tried to provide the best keyboard and touchpad in their laptops and Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 is not an exception. The keys of the keyboard feel pretty good to type. It requires a considerable amount of force for actuation (almost 70 grams) which might be helpful for typing experience.
Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 provides a touchpad of 4.1 X 2.6 inches. It is a fairly responsive touchpad. During our testing, we felt no inconvenience while using it or performing any gestures on it.
Our Experience with the Performance:
Now that’s the most important part of our review of the Lenovo Ideapad 330-15. The laptop comes with an 8th Generation Intel Corei7-8550U (4-Core.) It has a frequency of 1.80GHz that can be maximized up to 4.0 GHz.

Providing a RAM of 16Gb (DDR$), the laptop was very efficient to switch between multitasking tabs during our testing process. There is one thing to consider here. One of the RAM slots is attached to the motherboard. This means that it cannot be upgraded.
Although having 16GB of RAM is pretty much enough for daily life tasks.
Graphics:
Graphical specifications play a great role in the performance of a laptop. Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 does it finely. It provides a multiple graphic configuration option. This means you get the option to have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Redon 540.
Here are some more details to consider:
- The integrated GPU has a frequency of 300MHz and 1150MHz boost GPU frequency.
- The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 has a 1050 base frequency along with 1518MHz of boost GPU frequency.
- AMD Radeon 540 has base frequency of 1100MHz and boost GPU frequency of 1124MHz.
Overall, the experience with the graphical performance of the laptop was pretty good due to multiple configuration options.

Our Experience with Battery and Storage:
The Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 comes with a 3-cell 52.5 Wh battery. You might be thinking about how long the laptop can provide screen time. Well, the Lenovo company claims that it can last for almost 6 hours.

The important thing to consider here is that the lasting time is not always as the officials claim. That is the reason why we decided to test the battery of this laptop ourselves. It lasted almost up to 6 hours. This time, the officials were right.
As a tech enthusiast, you might be aware of the fact that battery timing depends on the task you do on the laptop. This means that the battery might die quickly if you perform heavy tasks on the laptop (gaming for example.)
Overall, we were pretty impressed with the battery performance that the laptop provided.
Now, let’s talk a little about the storage specifications of this laptop. Just like multiple graphic configurations, the laptop provides multiple storage options also. You can get a laptop with the following two storage options:
- SATA HDD (the maximum memory support for this option is 1TB)
- SSD (the maximum memory support for this option is 256GB)
Although the Lenovo Ideapad 330-15 also provides you with a 4-in-1 card reader for a little extra storage. This includes:
- SD
- SDXC
- SDHC
- MMC
