While I was researching the Internet for good options for audiobook apps, I ran into this list. This website had a pretty thorough list of apps which helped greatly in my article and research.
Check out this list of apps but keep reading on to learn about tips on finding a great audiobook app for you.
Try for Free First
If you have never explored the world of audiobooks or don’t have a lot of money to spend on them, you can search for free audiobooks in most applications. Both smartphones of iOS and Andriod have applications that offer only free audiobooks. For this, it is much easier to pick a book out to listen to then having to filter between priced and free audiobooks.

Another way to test out audiobooks is to download the free trial or portion of the book to decide whether its worth buying or not. If, after you have listened to the free portion you decide you like it, there will be an option to buy the rest of the book. This is a great way to give an audiobook a test run before you commit to buying it full out.
Yet, another way to get free audiobooks options is to become a member of a major retailer’s group through apps. With these memberships, you can see the everchanging selection of audiobooks. This is a beneficial feature that some apps have that offers you the option to download new audiobooks for free on a monthly basis.
Educational Audio Books
Another way that audiobooks can help is through educational audiobooks. So, if you want to learn more about a certain topic, you more than likely will be able to find an educational audiobook on the topic. Educational audiobooks can be very beneficial to a person on the go, having multiple books on your smartphone is a lot better than lugging around pounds and pounds of textbooks.
Audiobooks are not only educational, but there is a vast amount of motivational audiobooks can range on many topics that focus on different areas of your life and how to be more successful. The great thing about motivational audiobooks is that you don’t have to set aside time out of your busy day to sit and read a book. With audiobooks, you can listen to it on the go or commuting to and from work.
Also, there are other ways to listen and get information besides audiobooks. There are free podcasts available for download as well. Podcats are equally as diverse on topics as audiobooks. Podcasts focus on varying subjects including but not limited to authors and new audiobooks on the shelves, or even podcasts that readout loud books or portions of books. Therefore, you can learn about a variety of different audiobooks through podcasts.
Listening Offline
One of the most important things about audiobooks versus paper books is that you have the ability to listen and enjoy audiobooks anytime and anywhere. So, if you download an audiobook onto your smartphone or tablet, you should be able to listen to it anywhere, regardless of whether you have an Internet connection or not. Keep in mind though, if you stream an audiobook online, you won’t be able to listen to it without a WIFI connection. Therefore, it might be better to look at apps that allow you to download the audiobook instead of streaming them. Conversely, if you worry about how much storage space is used up by your audiobooks, you can delete them as you finish them, but it would be a good idea to list them “as read” so you know what books you have already read down the road. One great advantage to audiobooks is you can be listening to the book whilst you are enjoying another hobby or in transit. For example, if you are on a road trip, you don’t have to miss out on your book if you’re driving. You can enjoy listening and driving at the same time.
In conclusion
Audiobooks change the way we are able to receive information from authors of all types of books. We can learn from educational audiobooks, be inspired by motivational books, or simply entertained by our favorite fiction audio novels or nonfiction books. Additionally, we can enjoy any of these anywhere, anytime with the ability to download and listen on the go.
