Honda is recalling 780,000 vehicles in North America due to fuel pump cracks, with probable leaks and fire risks. Affected models include Accord, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic (2023-2025).Dealers to inspect and replace faulty pumps.
High-pressure fuel pumps are prone to crack and leak fuel. This is the reason that Honda is going to recall 780,000 vehicles in North America in order to curb concerns over these threatening damages. Presence of fuel leak and ignition fire can cause increased risk of fire in automobiles.
Accord, CR-V Hybrid and Honda Civic vehicles are included in this recall from 2023-2025.
720,000 vehicles in United States and 61,000 in Canada are included in this recall.
High-pressure fuel pump would be inspected and replaced with the improved one by the dealers if required.
Honda has specifically valued their customers’ lives protecting them from fuel leaking catching fire because defects in high-pressure fuel pumps can cause cracks inside the fuel pump leading to ignition of fire growing life threats to the drivers. This phenomenon can happen in both cases while driving or idling as catching of fire is linked with fuel leakage which directly involved in cracks inside the high-pressure fuel pumps.
Honda, a renowned automobile company has received 145 such claims up till now but no injury has been reported linked to this process.
On Tuesday, Honda confirmed the presence of a fuel leak and odour in the month of September 2024 and stopped shipping such vehicles which have been affected by the process of fire ignition owing to fuel leakage with cracks inside high-pressure fuel pumps.
